For Both PA Shipments & Interstate Shipments

Basic insurance - the basic insurance that comes with your move at no additional cost is termed 60 cents per pound, per article.  (i.e., a piece of furniture or other item weighing a hundred pounds that is damaged would be covered for $60.00) Often times under this coverage our furniture refinisher can take care of minor repairs or touch-ups.

For PA Shipments Only

Depreciated Value Coverage – With depreciated value protection, you are covered up to and including the stipulated value that you enter on the bill of lading (shipping contract).  With this plan the minimum coverage you can sign up for is $10,000.  The cost for this is $5.00 for every $1000 in declared value.  So $10,000 in coverage cost $50.00 (i.e., a TV set that is five years old that is damaged would warrant a payment for about half of its original value. 
                                               
Full Value Protection - This is the best and most comprehensive protection for your move. $20,000 is the minimum coverage for this plan; the cost is $8.50 per $1,000 in declared value. So $20,000 would cost $170.00.


For Interstate Shipments Only

Full Value Protection Coverage- With a $0, $250 or $500 deductible. Rates determined by eTariff V1.31 estimate, increments of $5000 up to $200,000 per van.
If possible, please inform the estimator or Moody Movers’ office personnel at least 48 hours prior to your move whether you require additional insurance coverage.
